1826年，十五岁的李斯特完成十二首练习曲，最后成为著名"超技练习曲"最初的版本，亦称为"超级练习曲"，或"超凡练习曲"，为高级音乐会练习曲。李斯特为自己的创作风格洒下第一颗种子，作品最后由李斯特献给车尔尼(Czerney)，以感念师恩，但乐曲中惊人的技巧，大概只有李斯特本人来演奏才会发挥它的效果。

第九首 Ricordanza.Andamtino 回忆。两首最有名的超级练习曲之一。柔情绵绵，平静得近乎沉默的回忆。有11分钟之长。有一段极浪漫的旋律被人称为"古典音乐中最美的一小节"。这是对过去美好的留恋和回忆，丝毫不带任何不愉快的幻想。
